Editorial employees of NBC News Digital won certification of their union after a vote count at the National Labor Relations Board in Manhattan Friday afternoon. With the winning vote of 90-40, the 150-person staff joins the NewsGuild of New York, TNG-CWA Local 31003. The new bargaining unit includes reporters, video journalists, editors, social media strategists, designers, and editorial staff from nbcnews.com, today.com, StayTuned, msnbc.com, and NBC News Now. NBC management challenged the eligibility of nearly 20 editorial employees to vote in the election.

Challenger Susan DeCarava has been elected president of The NewsGuild of New York, defeating incumbent Grant Glickson (984 to 677), according to votes tallied Friday at the American Arbitration Association office in lower Manhattan.
