Condé Union members back Fashion Workers Act, stand with models, industry workers
We, the unionized editorial staff at Condé Nast brands such as Vanity Fair, GQ, Vogue, Glamour, Bon Appétit and more, express our full support for fashion’s creative workforce, who are seeking basic rights to workplace protections, transparency and accountability.
The Fashion Workers Act S.2477D (Hoylman-Sigal) / A.5631D (Reyes) would close a legal loophole that allows management companies to avoid accountability and for the first time establish basic labor protections for these workers. We encourage all our members as well as those in the NewsGuild of New York, our union, to take action and show their support for this Act.
Without these workers, there would be no fashion. We understand this basic principle because without us, there would be no Condé Nast.
Workers create the value of any industry, and this fact is especially true in fashion.
