Guild Event | Digital Security Training for Journalists

Recent headlines like Bad news about Pretty Good Privacy and The Signal encryption app isn’t so secure after all might have turned people off of encrypted messaging. And "that's a problem," according to Why you need a better handle on the WhatsApp, Signal and Telegram apps, because "people might not choose encrypted messaging to send their most sensitive information, if they think their messages are likely to be intercepted and read on those services."

Fear not, The NewsGuild of New York is bringing Freedom of the Press Foundation Director of Newsroom Digital Security Harlo Holmes to the Guild for an up-to-date and in-depth Digital Security Workshop on November 29th that will help you get a handle on which encryption programs are and aren't secure in today's digital landscape.

Please note that this class is open to NewsGuild of New York members in good standing only.
