Your Rights As A Union Member

It's come to our attention that some members of WGAE management have been directly and indirectly instructing unit members not to be involved in the union. The fact that a union would try to persuade its own staff members not to support their own union is unconscionable.

Negotiations Update

In response to The Newspaper Guild's (TNG) complete proposals, including those on pensions, health insurance and 401k contributions, at the fourth bargaining session on Monday evening, WGAE management agreed to provide union-represented employees with the same complement of health benefits as those available to non-represented staffers. Management's proposals, however, are in vague language that does not offer specific guarantees, including that members would pay the same premiums as everyone else, which we would require in a fair contract.
