Time Inc. part-timers' health care refunds misdirected to providers

TIME INC. - In August, Time Inc. agreed that part-timers whose 2011 health benefits were based on their “full-time equivalent salary,” rather than their actual salary, would receive refunds of any overpayments. Now, the Guild has learned that Blue Cross/Blue Shield and United Health Care refunded this money to the providers rather than employees. Anyone who’s ever dealt with a doctor’s administrative staff or a hospital’s billing bureaucracy knows what a nightmare it could be to get their money back.
