What would The Times's
pension freeze cost you?
Times management wants to freeze the Guild pension plan.
How would that affect your retirement income? Use this calculator to find out.
This calculator projects the guaranteed annual retirement benefit you would get at age 65 and compares it with the benefits you would receive if the pension plan were frozen on Jan. 1, 2012 and replaced with an additional contribution to your 401(k) account (3 percent of pay for those with less than 10 years of service and 5 percent for those who have at least 10 years when the new contract takes effect). For comparison purposes, it also assumes that the company contribution to your 401(k) account is converted into an annuity at retirement.
