STATEMENT from Condé Nast Union, NewsGuild of New York on Tuesday’s bargaining session

NEW YORK - Instead of coming to the table ready to bargain in good faith Tuesday, Condé Nast executives chose to bring no new contract proposals, and to instead add five more names to their list of union employees they want to lay off. 

They also made veiled threats of more layoffs to come. 

But just last week, Roger Lynch told Axios there were no plans for further reductions. The big question remains: What’s the truth, Roger?

Here’s what is certain: We will not allow Conde Nast management to intimidate our members.  

We are exploring all our options but we reject management’s attempt to divide us, and remain steadfast in our fight to save as many jobs as possible and win a fair contract.
