EC, RA, membership meetings reset due to bad weather

01/21/2014

Meetings of the Guild’s Executive Committee and Representative Assembly, originally scheduled for tonight, and a general membership meeting originally set for tomorrow night, have been postponed because of a strong winter storm that is already beginning to dump an expected six to 10 inches in New York City and higher amounts in the suburbs to the east and the south.

Meetings of the Executive Committee and the RA, the two governing bodies of the Newspaper Guild of New York, have been rescheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 6:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m., respectively. The proposed agenda of the postponed RA meeting includes a request by losing candidates in the Guild’s triennial election last November to void the results and order a rerun.

The local’s annual winter membership meeting has been reset for Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 6:15 p.m.

All of the rescheduled meetings will be held at the local’s old location at 1501 Broadway Suite 708 (between 43rd and 44th Streets), even though the Guild will have moved to its new headquarters at 1500 Broadway by then. The old location, which is available to the Guild through the end of January, will still have a conference table and chairs in its boardroom, while the meeting facilities at the new location may not be ready in time for next week’s meeting.

We will issue a reminder about next week’s membership meeting on Monday.
