Next Tuesday, September 21st, there will be a membership meeting for all members in good standing. The sole agenda will be Unit Officer and Unit Council member nominations.  At that time, the Unit Council will formally put the names of its selections into nomination. After that, the floor will be open for further nominations, either individually or by slate. The exact time and place of the meeting will be forthcoming.

Additional nominations of candidates may be made by written petition signed by not less than 10 percent of the unit membership. These petitions must be in the hands of the Unit Chairperson, and copies must be in the hands of the Secretary-Treasurer of The Newspaper Guild of New York, not later than seven days after the unit nominations meeting, but under no circumstances later than 5 p.m., Monday, October 4, 2004. They may not be presented prior to the September 21st membership meeting.

The Unit Council has unanimously endorsed the following slate to serve in office for the next three year term.
