Nomination Meeting Slated

Next Monday, September 20th, there will be a membership meeting for all members in good standing.  The meeting will take place at 1:00 p.m. in the Bayview room on the 37th floor.  The sole agenda will be Unit Officer and Unit Council member nominations.  At that time, the Unit Council will formally put the names of its selections into nomination.  After that, the floor will be open for further nominations, either individually or by slate.

Additional nominations of candidates may be made by written petition signed by not less than 10 percent of the unit membership.  These petitions must be in the hands of the Unit Chairperson, and copies must be in the hands of the Secretary-Treasurer of The Newspaper Guild of New York, not later than seven days after the unit nominations meeting, but under no circumstances later than 5 p.m., Monday, October 4, 2004.  They may not be presented prior to Monday’s membership meeting.

During a Unit Council meeting held this morning, September 13, the Unit Council unanimously endorsed the following slate to serve in office for the next three-year term:
