NOMINATIONS MADE FOR EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE SEATS

 

The New York Guild’s Representative Assembly (RA) has named New York Times Unit Grievance Chairperson Grant Glickson and Consumers Union Unit Assistant Treasurer Emilio Gonzalez as its candidates to fill the vacant Local Executive Committee seats formerly occupied by WQXR Unit Chairperson Alanna Stone, who recently left her job, and Consumers Union Unit Treasurer George Bates, who retired.

 

Glickson and Gonzalez were unopposed at the April 15^th RA meeting, following their nomination.

 

Additional nominations for the Executive Committee posts may be made via petitions and by not less than 5% of the membership in good standing, and filed with Secretary-Treasurer Peter Szekely by 5:00 p.m. April 23, 2008.

 

If no petitions are filed by the deadline, Grant Glickson and Emilio Gonzalez will be declared elected at that time.  In the event of a contest, the candidates will run on The Democratic Coalition Slate, and the election will be conducted entirely by mail ballot.
