NEW YORK DELEGATES FOR GUILD, CWA CONVENTIONS DECLARED ELECTED
Twenty-five delegates and 25 alternate delegates have been elected to represent the New York Local, in Providence, RI at February’s Sector Conference of The Newspaper Guild (TNG). Ten delegates and 10 alternate delegates have also been elected for the convention of the Communications Workers of America, which will be held in Las Vegas, Nev. in June.
Alternates may vote on convention actions only in the absence of any delegates they may replace.
All delegates and alternates were nominated by the Representative Assembly (RA), without opposition, November 27 as its candidates for the seats. They were declared elected December 5 when no opposing contestants were nominated by that date through membership petitions. Had there been a contest, the RA candidates would have run as The Democratic Coalition Slate. Those elected are as follows.
