NOMINATIONS  MADE  FOR  EXECUTIVE  COMMITTEE  SEATS

The New York Guild’s Representative Assembly (RA) has named New York Times Unit Chairperson Art Mulford as its candidate for the vacant position of Local First Vice Chairperson, and Ronnie Munder and Timothy Norfleet as its candidates to fill the Executive Committee seats left by former Unit Chairperson Lena Williams and Unit Officer Maurice Roman, both of whom have retired from The Times.

Munder and Norfleet were both unopposed at the November 9 RA meeting, following their nomination.

Additional candidates for the Executive Committee post may be made via petitions and by not less than 5% of the membership in good standing, and filed with Secretary-Treasurer Bill O’Meara by 5:00 p.m. November 15, 2005.

If no petitions are filed by the deadline, Art, Ronnie and Timothy will be declared elected at that time.  In the event of a contest, the candidates will run as The Democratic Coalition Slate, and the election will be conducted entirely by mail ballot.
