A SPECIAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

70^TH BIRTHDAY PARTY

THE NEWSPAPER GUILD OF NEW YORK

             This month, your union, the Newspaper Guild of New York, is celebrating its 70^th birthday.  Please join us as we celebrate this event with a special Membership Meeting followed by a New York Guild Birthday Party, at Guild headquarters, located in Suite 708, at 1501 Broadway (between 43^rd and 44^th Streets), New York City.

            The celebration will be held Monday, March 29, 2004, starting with the membership meeting, which will begin at 6:30 p.m.

            The meeting will include remarks by New York Guild President Barry Lipton, Secretary-Treasurer Bill O’Meara, Local Chairperson Peter Szekely, and our guest speaker, the Secretary-Treasurer of The Newspaper Guild in Washington, D.C., Bernie Lunzer, as well as presentation of the 2004 Keenan Award to New York Times Unit Chairperson Lena Williams and El Diario Chairperson Oscar Hernandez.

            Immediately following the meeting, we will have a good old-fashioned birthday party to celebrate our 70 years of service to workers in our industry.

            Come and have a slice of birthday cake as well as other refreshments.
